Backgammon is a skill game. The object of the game is to bring all of you checkers home and then of the board completely.
The first of the two players to do so wins. The setup is fairly simple.
The board is split in 4. Each section has six cones drawn on to it known as Points.
Each player has a Home Board and an Outer Board. The board is split in half by ridge known as the Bar.
This Bar separates the Home and Outer boards. Each player starts out with 15
checkers divided amongst 4 cones mirroring the checkers of his/her opponent.
It's the same exact set up every time a new game begins.
Players roll the dice and move the checkers in a counterclockwise direction,
counting the cones according to the outcome of the rolling of the dice.
If a player lands on an opponent's checker,
the opponents check is set on the bar and the opponent
must roll the dice and start that checker from Home again.
